But leave it to MTV — which ushered in the reality TV era more than a decade ago with "The Real World" — to put its own spin on the makeover show with "Pimp My Ride," a weekly series that transforms broken-down autos into tricked-out masterpieces. The half-hour show, whose season finale airs Sunday at 9:30 p.m. EDT/PDT, has been a solid addition to MTV's lineup of original programming, consistently winning its time slot in the 12-to-34 demographic against basic cable competition. Hosted by rapper and car enthusiast Xzibit and featuring Los Angeles-area aftermarket shop West Coast Customs, "Pimp My Ride" selects young, automotively challenged Southern Californians and transforms their jalopies into triumphs. "Everybody has had a bucket in their life," said Xzibit, using L.A. slang for a clunker. He has had two of his own rides — a Hummer H2 and a Mercedes-Benz S500 — "pimped" at West Coast Customs. A typical episode begins with Xzibit paying a surprise visit to the viewer and humorously highlighting the car's numerous problem areas. Then it's off to West Coast Customs, where a team of professionals disassembles the vehicle and completely refurbishes it with custom rims and paint, plush interiors and the latest in lighting, car audio and video accessories. I have a true story here to tell u about a ride that u probably would want to take a little extra pimpn time for This ride was bought at a auction by my dad.My siter bought a mini van at the auction so they both drove there vehicles for awile until my sister decided she wanted to trade vehicles.That was okay but a few extra $$ were required.The trade was on.She drove it and the motor went boy we got probs now.They didnt talk for a bit there cause my dads contracts are like sold were is as is.So over a month my sister got over this. So my dad had the car for a few months and my sister for longer. So in 1994 my cousin was getting married in holland so my sister and i decide to suprise my big family there. Before we left we both said bye to my dad in a hospital were he shouldnt have been in.He was usually in Abbotsford in a hospital specially for Depression for years.He was on heavy meds but he still reconized us.I cant forget that ,My sister and I didnt know that hug was the last . So we went to Holland supprised alot of the family its on Video somewhere and the day of the wedding we decided to suprise the bride and groom(my cousin) who visited Canada prior .The expresssion priceless. So the wedding ,reception was soo cool.That night we all went to bed worn out from dancing and running around like a bunch of crazy flying Dutchmen. That night my Uncle woke me up and and I knew before he even said anything I screamed no and cried so hard.My uncle tried to console me and I thought Miriam is she OK She was staying at another relatives,so my Uncle drove me there so I could tell her.She was sleeping I woke her and she looked at me and knew right away.I later found out my Dad got a day release from the hospital and was home thats were my mom had to cut him down from the tree in front of the house.It was to late. We went directly home that morning with my Aunt and Uncle to a funeral to be with family (mom ,sister and brother) I was never the same to this day. One year later, My sister Miriam who had three kids with her husband Me and her were close I lived there at the time with the kids.Her husband had left her with her friend and lived together. They didnt last and thats when my sister was going on with her life and his was in shambles he decided to kill her(my sister) and her boyfriend. So to say the least life for me has been day to day. Never used to be that way.I guess you call it depression. Anyway the car is a 88 Mustang convertable its in my name but to me its still my dads/sisters and her daughter shelly is now 14 years old, and I would like to pass the car on to her,but its got to be done right by that it seems like your the answer. I have a couple of short clips to show you (me and my niece)If you could let me know how to get thit to you. This is obviously a huge sentimental prodject my niece and nephews would just flip.They wont know till its done. Sorry it's late and I am bored. Why don't people understand? It's not that hard, not that hard at all. My name is Mercedes..and that's about as close as i have come to a pimped ride..i drive a 1993 Mazda Navajo..well..some of the time..B/c i share it and a little black focus..between 4 people going in a million different directions..there usually isn't any extra money for repairs..so my dad has become well acquainted with the art of using duct tape for repairs..the focus had duct tape holding up the window for the longest time..and now the window has broken in the Mazda..my dad is also good at starting projects..but sometimes forgetting to complete the job..so the door pannel is somewhere in the garage..and everything that usually lies beneath is now exposed..the front windshield is covered with huge cracks..and at any time..just may come crashing in..the alignment is so off that you practically have to turn the wheel completely to the left to keep the vehicle on the road..the navajo is barely legal..having only two mirrors..and a make-shift taped up tail light..this vehicle has been passed down..from my sister..to my mom..to my dad..and now to me..it's nice to just have anything to be able to drive..but it would be really nice if you could help me out a bit..it would also take a lot of stress off of my mom b/c she is having to worry about getting me a car before i go to college this fall..(due to the fact that i will be commuting)and it's been hard because her income is the only financial support in the household..thank you for your time.. I'm a mother of one,I live in memphis TN, sofor I have lived here about three years and my husband left me with the wrost car there is. I have a '97 dodge intrepide, and it only been running for 4 months. I have four mismatch tires to when I ride I can't go more than 40 miles an hour without shaking. My driver seat I have to put a piece of board to keep my seat in place. On the passenger side the seat won't stay adjusted and they have to ride on they're on rist. I got one headlight and at night when i want to drive it, I have to hit it three times to make it come on. My brakes scrubbs intil they squeeks.My bumper is sticking out from where I had a hit and run accident. The carpet interior has holes. My driving window went down one day I didn'nt come back up. my seats have all type of stain in it from spill soads, to sour milk. I have a cassest player that play on it own and only way you can cut it off if you stop and cut the car and restart it. Had to walk for 4 months with my two year old to find a job, find a day care, and register myself for school. Its been hard for me but i have made it this for. I know I'm kind of old for this (34 age) but if any body desever there ride to be pimped it could be me so; PLEASE P.I.M.P. MY RIDE You are dumb.

My husband and I just bought 1999 Chrysler Mazda 300 - I TOTALED it less than a month later. It is unrepairable. I then had to buy him a jalopy which he is currently riding around in. He's been such a great guy about this and I feel bad. Is it only west coast area?

Jill my mom really did alot for her children and turned her whole life around for us. and she really has went through alot in her time and she really needs to get this car pimped because it was are uncle bobby's car and he passed away from cancer and it would really be great if you guys can do that. my cousin calls it the danger ranger and that is really embarrasing. when she picks us up from school we tell her to meet us in the grocery store parking lot next door to our school so we wont be seen in that bucket. also her daughter is graduating high school this year and she needs something tight to roll to prom in. please do what you can and pimp her ride.

I happen to watched the show featuring the blue hi-jet minivan with all the glory of your appealing, gorgeous and outrageous make-over.Im joey from the philippines and i happen to own the same hi-jet model as well as a suzuki carry-all minivan. My dad used to have a 1984 chevy suburban, it ment a hole lot to him. my brother and sister have a band, there name is aggressive persuasion and he used to carry all the band stuff in the back of it for a long time but after a while it was in such disrepear that he had to get rid of it. Now he has a 1983 ford econoline van that was the bands first touring vechical when they got the money to go on there own. now they have an R.V. and they are out on there own and that van has just about seen it's day to. I think that West Coast Customes is doing a wonderful job with the show. To bad that I don't live out there. One day though. December 6,2003 i fell off of my big rig tow truck and broke my wrist. Its been down hill (financialy) I don't get enough from workmans comp. My employer used to pay me half cash and half check. So you can emagine workmans comp pays you 2/3 of your pay. my pay was alot more than they show. I had a 2002 Z71 suburban with 22 and a lot of money uner the hood and inside with t.v.'s and system. A new toyota 4runner also fixed up. a 39 foot motorhome,28 foot toybox, a $25,000 sandrail, quads, and my pride and joy a 56 buick special that i've owned since i was 18. sounds like a lot but unfortunately i had to turn the cars in to the dealer and sell my toys and buick to be able to make the house payment. They are even taking out of my workmans comp check my child support from my previous marriage. They do not care that i was borderline of losing my house becouse of getting behind on the payments. I called the court to try to lower the payments until i go back to work they said, no. we finally were able to get a 91 honda accord, its in so so condition but i would love to have it pimped out pleeeeeeeeeeeeassee ;o). i think that you should go to other cities. phoenix az for instance DEAR PIMP MY RIDE,
